He did not travel to Bayern's Champions League game against Galatasaray in Istanbul on Tuesday to continue training while a rumoured return in the league last week did not materialise. "We have to wait and see," Bayern's Tuchel said on Tuesday when asked whether Neuer will return this week. A Bayern comeback for Neuer would mean that veteran keeper Sven Ulreich, who has been outstanding in his absence, will quickly slip back into his usual reserve role. Victory over visiting Darmstadt, in 12th place, could move Bayern provisionally into top spot, with Leverkusen, also unbeaten, in action against Freiburg on Sunday.

Bayern did not manage a shot on target until late in the first half as Copenhagen's compact defence neutralised the threat offered by the pace of Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane on the Munich flanks. Making his 144th appearance in the Champions League, Mueller wasted no time getting involved as he crossed for Leon Goretzka, but the midfielder's header drifted wide of the target. The victory left Bayern top of the group on six points, two ahead of Galatasaray, who beat Manchester United 3-2 at Old Trafford to leave United bottom. MUNICH, Germany, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Bayer Leverkusen scored a stoppage time penalty through Exequiel Palacios to rescue a 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich on Friday and snap their winning start. The match lived up to its billing and the result left Bayern and Leverkusen level on 10 points at the top of the standings. Palacios thundered in his spot kick after Alphonso Davies had brought down Jonas Hofmann. But it was Bayern who scored with Tel weaving past the Leverkusen defence to set up Goretzka. MUNICH, Germany, Aug 27 (Reuters) - Bundesliga record signing Harry Kane scored twice in his first league appearance in front of a home crowd on Sunday to steer champions Bayern Munich to a 3-1 victory over Augsburg and make it two wins out of two matches. Despite their second straight league win coach Thomas Tuchel was not happy with his team's overall performance, especially after a sluggish first half. Bayern had their opponents on the backfoot from the start but chances were few and far between. Augsburg did manage to cut the deficit in the 86th when they caught the Bayern defence napping and Dion Beljo rounded keeper Sven Ulreich. BERLIN, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Bayern Munich want to sign a goalkeeper following the injury to Germany captain Manuel Neuer but the options on the transfer market in the winter period are limited, coach Julian Nagelsmann said on Thursday. Speaking in Doha, Qatar, at the end of a one-week training camp ahead of the Bundesliga season restart next week, Nagelsmann said that, while 34-year-old Sven Ulreich was ready to step in to replace Neuer, the club still needed another keeper. Nagelsmann said the choices behind Ulreich were limited to younger keepers, including 19-year-old Johannes Schenk, with no experience of top league matches. Bayern, top of the Bundesliga, resume their hunt for a record-extending 11th straight league crown against RB Leipzig on Jan. 20. "We want to put ourselves on track for the big match against top league rival Leipzig next week," he said.
